Crowns
If a large cavity is on a front tooth, we can place a white composite or zirconia crown on the tooth. If the large cavity is on a back tooth, we can place medical-grade stainless steel crown or white zirconia crown.

Extraction
If a baby tooth has an infection and your child is in pain, we will most likely recommend an extraction.

Space Maintainer
Once the tooth is extracted, we often need to place a space maintainer to hold the space for the adult permanent tooth. We offer a variety of space maintainers and will recommend one that best fits the age of your child.

Pulpotomy (Baby Root Canal)
If the cavity is on a nerve but not yet causing pain, the tooth can be saved by amputating the infected nerve and placing a healing material that is sealed with a crown.

The 20 baby teeth in your child’s mouth are smaller and softer than adult teeth, so the time spent brushing teeth at home may mean less time in a pediatric dentist’s office.

We recommend a pediatric dental appointment for a checkup and cleaning every six months, as baby teeth are weaker than adult teeth and cavities grow quickly in children.
- 2×2 Good oral hygiene for school-aged children cannot be emphasized enough. Preventing cavities and tooth decay is a commitment to brushing twice a day for two minutes.
