Dr. Amanda Suh

Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
DDS, FRCDC

Dr. Amanda is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. One of the most rewarding aspects of her profession is developing a growing and trusting relationship with young children as they mature.

Dr. Amanda earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2017 from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Fond memories of living in BC for some of her childhood and her love of the outdoors brought her back to the West Coast. After practicing as a general dentist for two years on Vancouver Island, she attended the Eastman Institute of Oral Health at the University of Rochester, gainin extensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including behaviour management, dental trauma and working with children with special health-care needs. Her research focused on the association between feeding problems and early childhood dental caries.

Dr. Amanda is a Pediatric Dentistry Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, BC Society of Pediatric Dentists, and British Columbia Dental Association. She is also a part-time clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia and a staff dentist at BC Children’s Hospital.

Outside of dentistry, you will find her on the trails — camping, hiking, running, biking and exploring the BC outdoors.

Dr. Nidhi Kotak

Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry
BDS, DDS, CLC, FRCDC

Dr. Nidhi Kotak has practiced dentistry in five countries, most recently Canada. That experience, along with outside interests such as marathon training and improv theater, have made her a better clinician. Dental outreach has taken her to incredible places like Ladakh, India—on one such mission she had the fortune of meeting the Dalai Lama. On another mission trip to Maasai Mara, she treated a Maasai tribe in the midst of the African savannah surrounded by wildlife. Dr. Nidhi’s journey so far has been unconventional and humbling, helping her to better connect with patients of different cultures and geographies.

Vancouver families love working with Dr. Nidhi. Her top priority is to ensure parents and their children have a stress-free experience and feel cared for in a trusting environment. She believes that communication is key in understanding a patients’ needs and setting their expectations. She provides options such as sedation dentistry, treatment under general anesthesia, treatment with laughing gas, infant laser dentistry and treats tongue ties and lip ties. She loves treating children with special needs.

As the chief resident at Temple University, Dr. Nidhi received additional training to become a certified lactation counsellor after encountering many young mothers whose newborns had tongue and lip ties. In 2011 she received the Young Outstanding Dentist Award at the IDRR conference; she recently received the Lucy Hobbs 2023 “Woman to Watch” award.

Dr. Nidhi has trained at the Second City in Chicago in improvisational theater and loves to incorporate improv with her patient interactions to make it more fun for the kids.
