April is National Oral Health Month

Have you and your child gone for a check-up this year yet? Early Childhood Caries is a very common disease in young children. I would like to highlight the expertise of dentists and the importance of early routine dental care for your child.

Every little thing that happens in your mouth can affect your whole body. Only your dentist has the expertise to examine and diagnose oral condition and offer treatment. It is important to make sure small oral problems do not become large problems.

Poor oral health in children can really impact their quality of life. If left unaddressed, children get used to constant dental pain and accept it as part of their normal lives. Dental cavities or infection will not go away on their own and will only get worse over time. Pediatric dentists are specialized in dealing with children, diagnosing dental problems and taking care of their little teeth.

If your child has not gone for a 6 month check-up or for a first check-up by age one, April is a great month to schedule an appointment for both yourself and your child.

Happy National Oral Health Month!
